he
Domaine de Matibat is situated on the south slope of the massif
& was acquired by the Turetti family in the seventies. The land
is subject to a mixture of mediterranean & oceanic climates.
The land is
south facing, very stony & is particularly suited to the cultivation
of vines. The soil on the summits & slopes are of a chalk/clay
mixture.
nformed wine growers
Henri Turetti has dedicated himself to planting new
grape varieties in order to produce a new & improved wine :
Appellation Côtes de la Malepère & wines from individual
grapes.
Today the vineyard of approximately 30 hectares, managed by the
son Jean Claude, consists mainly of Merlot, Cabernet Franc,
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cot, Syrah & Cinsault grapes plus the white
grapes of Chardonnay & Sauvignon.
From the vine to the wine, everything is produced by the family
:
Wine growing, production, ageing of the wine & sales from the
Cave.

Domaine de Matibat Rouge (Red), Cuvée tradition
This vintage, with its subtle & fruity perfume, is the result
of a combination of grape varieties - Merlot (60%), Cabernet Franc
(30%), Cot & Syrah (10%). Pleasant, smooth & subtle, this
wine is recommended to be drunk with cold meats, grilled meats &
with friends !
Domaine de Matibat Rouge (Red), Cuvée élevée
en fûts de chêne (aged in oak) 1998
Shiny, deep ruby red colour. The perfume is remarkably subtle,
with hints of red fruit jam & vanilla. In the mouth, this
wine is full, dense & soft. The tannin present in the wine
gives harmony & length to the taste. A full flavoured wine,
it is recommended to be drunk with duck breast, cassoulet, game
dishes etc
